Prototypes

Companies arrange to have prototypes made for a variety of reasons. Depending on the development phase of a new product, the prototype performs a different function. The customer's wishes and requirements determine which aspects are important for the type and the implementation of the prototype. In the ideas or conceptual phase, it can be important to produce a model showing the appearance, whereas a functioning model or even a pilot production model may be more appropriate at a later stage. A scale model for demonstration purposes can also be a part of the development process.
